For this post I combined a few phases together as they are all Detailing steps for the project. This is when I added in an ammo cage that helps feed the ammo into the gun along with mounting points on the other side so that this can be added into a Jet.

I also added in a top for hose connections to fee the gun the power needed to run it properly. I also added in pieces for all the spinning parts inside the gun to mount onto and have a more visual look to how you view how the gun should work.

As for the inner workings of a mini gun itself I couldn't tell you without further research, but I know there are lots of tinny and quite large spinning parts that is constantly feeding the gun ammo and spewing out the casings. If you look at the inner workings its a ton of cog wheels working together grabbing bullets spinning them to the proper locations and grabbing casings to fall out. If you actually want to do some research on the inner works its pretty interesting how they are designed.

The Next thing I did was the main body. All created out of cylinders chopped up a bit and pieced together using the vertex Wield tool and some time with some thought as how the vertices needed to line up. I also took a look at mounting and how mini guns needed to be mounted in vehicles such as jets and fighter craft. All of that came into play with the next step though.

This was me taking the time to start carving out how the body should look in real life. A little fudging here and there but mainly I tried my best to keep it in line with a Fighter Jets gun system. This was due to me Wanting to use this design in a fighter Jet design still under the research phase on how to model.

Alright so with this model I actually started out with Texturing the Model as I modeled it. Essentially this Gun is a bunch of Cylinders put together so the texturing aspect wasn't that difficult. I started with the barrels got them all designed and copied the first one into a rotation of six barrels.

If you look at the Barrels the back ends are bigger than the front end due to the way you would want to connect the barrels to the mini guns main body. I also created 2 Disks to keep the barrels together and Boolean the holes out of them. One last disk near the bottom of the barrels was created and put in after a little research and also me wanting to add in another for looks.

Alright,

Its been a while Since I posted any of my work to my blog so I figured I would update my blogger with some new Blogs. I wanted to show off my Mini Gun that I produced a couple months back. Thinking about it; it's been about 3 months maybe 4 since I finished this. All in all I put about 8 to 10 hours of work into getting this proper to my eye and to the Final Product that it is now.

I'll post up my progress work on this as soon as I can. I need to open up the old files and do some quick renders of my progress work files for them to be published. I should have them up by the end of the night.
